      Create a Start Up/Boot Disk

Here's how to create a boot disk in Windows 98

  • Insert a formatted floppy disk in your floppy drive.
  • Go to the Add/Remove Programs icon in the Windows control panel. (You get there by pressing the Start button, then Selecting Settings)
  • Click on the Startup Disk tab on the far right.
  • Press the "Startup Disk" button and it will create a startup disk for you.

Keep this disk in a SAFE Place.

Why Create a Start Up/Boot Disk?

Computers crash all the time, and when you reboot after a crash, your PC may not recognize its CD-ROM or Hard Drive. When this happens simply put your Start Up/Boot Disk in the (A:) drive and restart your computer.
